Open-air team blitz in Seebach - Nimzos double win
On 16th of June, Schachclub Seebach organized their 3rd open-air team tournament, a fun event in an uncommon format.
We won last year’s edition convincigly with a team consisting of Sacha, Thomas, Miran and Arthur. This year we were back with two-and-a-half team (10 players), of which the funny names were generated by an AI:
Patt Party: Dylan, Nathan, Mikhail, Arthur
Inglorious Chess Basterds: Sacha, Lars, Thomas, Vital
Wettswil-Nimzo fusion: Michele, Lirim, and 2 guys from Wettswil
Other teams from good clubs joined, such as SG Zürich and Brugg, but they were no match for our power teams. Patt Party won gold with a clean sheet of 100% wins. Inglorious Chess Basterds got silver with only 2 losses, and the Wettswil-Nimzo fusion team got a good 6th place.
The final game opposing both our teams was quite a statement !
